A series of books written by Brian Jacques, who tells stories to the blind.
He explains things in brilliant detail, and makes fine, hilarious charcters and has just about the wittiest comedy you can prod with a slapstick.

What luck! I have a habit of stopping at garage sales to look for books. Well, I went to one today, and what should I find? The first Redwall book! Well, I'm going to read it so we can discuss it, shouldn't take me too long. ;D
Yay! Books! Whoo hoo!
Umm. . . okay, I'll stop now.

OMG! I had gotten the first two for Christmas and had just started reading the first one today! Then I came here and saw the thread about it! That was so cool! But anyway, I'm only on Chapter 12, but that's ok. I only started reading it a few hours ago so I know I'll be done soon. And then I can start on the next one! ;D

They're QUITE the Christmas present, in my opinion. Read away, by all means ;D!

I'm pretty sure it's Redwall. Is that the first one? Or doesn't it matter. I haven't started it yet. I'll probably read it this weekend if I have time.

Redwall is a great starter for people who like to understand the most common setting of the series... but plotwise, Mossflower is quite the starter. Still, either one do great.

So. . .it's sort of like what 'The Hobbit' is to Lord of the Rings. . .?

So. . .it's sort of like what 'The Hobbit' is to Lord of the Rings. . .? There you have it. You'll notice that there a lot of preludes and sequels stuck all over this series.
