Hello, I am known as Big Brother. That's not my real name, of course, but enemies of the state are always after me, so I have to operate incognito at present.
I am a temporarily unemployed world conqueror and totalitarian despot. I am also the older brother of Lolua, your Canon Mistress (or, as I know her, "Secret Operative CHICKEN LITTLE").
When not plotting to take over the world, I dabble a tiny bit in writing sci-fi and political thrillers. Some of it is vaguely classifiable as fanfic, but usually using the setting and milleu of the original source rather than established characters. My current project along those lines is something with the laborious name of "Tech Infantry Season Eight: The Middle Kingdom". It is the latest incarnation of the :"Tech Infantry" universe, which is sort of a melding of Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers and the World of Darkness series of RPG's from White Wolf Publishing (Vampire: The Masquerade, Mage: The Ascension, and Werewolf: The Apocalyple, primarily). Originally, it was concieved by myself and a couple of friends in college as a fun dice-and-paper role-playing module where we took Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage characters and put them in power armor suits and sent them to fight giant alien insects in outer space. Yes, it sounds incredibly stupid, but it was also incredibly fun and amusing, and even after we were finished with college and had real lives we still wanted to keep playing. Unfortunately, spread as we were by then throughout the Midwest (and one of us having moved to South Korea of all places), gathering around a card table and breaking out the Mountain Dew was no longer an option. So we dug out a set of rules for the Amber diceless RPG system, modified them heavily, and started a series of play-by-email games set in the Tech Infantry universe. After a couple of false starts, it effectively became a cross between a very free-form RPG and a collaborative novel-writing project. We've since produced well over a thousand pages of text, including one complete epic novel ("Rage Against The Dying of the Light"), several short stories, a couple of novellas, and now we're working on what is planned to be the second epic novel, "The Middle Kingdom".
The completed chapters (we call them episodes and acts for reasons too silly and complicated to go into at the moment) for the current (second) novel project are available on my website:
