After the bus ride and the steep downhill trek to the castle itself, Reg started to wonder if this whole trip was really worth it. But the annoyance of the journey was immediately forgotten when she first caught sight of the castle proper.
It's Gothic facade was made of gleaming white limestone; its spires topped by peaks of slate gray. It blended perfectly with its alpine landscape, framed by lush greenery and deep blue sky. The brochure didn't even begin to cover how breathtaking the view was. And for an Arizonian, who was used to nothing but a flat, boring, and dusty landscape, it truly was a magical place.
Reg stopped to take pictures, but after a few shots she noticed something more interesting. Part of the path which circumnavigated the castle was closed off and construction workers periodically could be seen around a low lying scaffold. Well, the facade was limestone, relatively not the most durable of substances, however beautiful it may be to behold . As Reg came closer to the castle, she could see that it was showing signs of wear.
