All right, bear with me here, I'm still largely in the process of figuring this out myself.
Anyway, been wanting to get a new writing project going for a while, and after much putzing about, Mlle's graciously let me use her board to run this. This is conceived as a small, one thread (but hopefully a nice juicy long one) Story-driven RPG.
RED TEXT!
I'm looking for a handful of players (3-5) with a bit of time to kill taking part in an adventure story. I'm hoping the story's going to be rather focused and interesting, and that works best with a small number of good solid players capable of being fairly active (a post every couple days) for a while.
GREEN TEXT!
The story will be based on Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series, to provide a convenient and fascinating backdrop for the story. The books are a great read and I recommend them to everyone. However, the RPG itself is deisgned so that you need to know absolutely nothing about HDM to be able to play, it's mostly just to provide a reference for me, as the game master, and if you've read them it'll probably be fun recognizing some things that might not otherwise be immediately obvious.

So, that's all for the moment, check out the character-creation thread as soon as I've got that up, if you know someone who'd be a great addition to the story, tell them about it (I'm awful at advertising this stuff myself, please help!), and other than that, enjoy!
