Oooh. . . another good chapter. . .finally we find out what's happening with Mustang and more. We find out the military has always existed under the Homunculi's command since the birth of the country, we find out that the top brass know this, and have known this all along. So this must be something Father has been planning for a long time, sculpting generations of people like clay. . .
And speaking of clay, Envy's true form is amazingly grotesque but really really cool. . .^_^ The spontaneous generation of humans, like some sort of evil potion is really interesting. It makes me wonder if each of those people are real souls trapped in Envy's Pstone given form by Envy's ability, or are they facets of Envy's own personality? Many of them were crying out in agony calling to their mothers and fathers, sister's and brothers, and many were either mad or wanted to die, it seemed only a few actually spoke for Envy. Was this meant to paralyse Ed, as Ling seemed to think, or was Ed right in thinking 'there are people in there'. I wonder what Father was trying to accomplish by creating Envy. If Gluttony is supposed to be the Door. . . then Envy must surely be the people on the other side of the Door. When Envy grabbed Ed with his 'tongue' it reminded me very much of the hands that came out of the Door to grab Ed. It seems, if Father is trying to create his own Door, he's doing a pretty poor job of it, and has only managed to create Hell.
Anyway, off the metaphysical plane, Mustang is sooo screwed. Canon!Bradley makes my Bradley look like a cute fluffy eyepatched bunny. So far, he's disbanded Mustang's group, throwing them to the four corners (literally) and is effectively taking Mustang's love interest hostage by making her his personal assistant. The only reason he hasn't killed Mustang yet is because he's a Sacrifice candidate (still have no idea what that means), and Father would be angry if he disposed of someone who could potentially open the Door.
I was hoping for more Father in this chapter, but I had to settle for a single panel. Bleh :-P oh wells . .. Next issue promises a sweet Alphonse/Father showdown I can't wait to find out what happens.
