[Sickbay – USS Darkstar]
Dr. Samil sat at his desk, PADD in hand, as he made a final check over the medical records for his fellow crewmates.
His fellow crewmates.
He liked the way that sounded.
“The Prophets have been kind,” He thought, finally putting down his PADD and removing himself from his desk, “I have a very good feeling about this ship, this crew.”
The bridge crew alone was intriguing; there were two humans, Romulan/Human, Klingon/Human, two Vulcans (including himself), and his captain was a Trill. It was a very interesting mix and also, even from just a medical standpoint, a very challenging one,. So much biological diversity was bound to present new challenges to overcome, new obstacles to rise above. And he was ready and willing to meet them.
He felt the very sleight vibrations of the engines as they went online.
“Another day, a new beginning.”
“Come." Jaden said, the doors opened and in walked a Vulcan that looked sort of familiar. "Captain. I am Dr. Samil Ben." The man said. The new Chief Medical Officer, of course! Jaden had never met him, but was very impressed with his record, even a bit interested by it. Jaden smiled and stood up. "Welcome aboard." He said, and offered his hand. Samil took it and they shook hands. "I look forward to serving with you." Jaden said. "And I with you Captain." Samil said, and smiled. Jaden was not used to seeing a Vulcan smile. "If you'll excuse me Captain, I just wanted to meet you and let you know I was on board. I have some things in sickbay to check on." He said. "Of course. I'll see you later." Jaden said, and watched his CMO walk away. "He seems like a nice fellow." Jaden said, turning back to Beca.
