Eustace peered out of the widow of the aeroplane, still wondering how the hell this thing was being kept up in the air without magic. He glanced over at Hermes who was gripping onto the armrests with white knuckles. So it seemed he wasn't the only one freaked out by this ride.
Raven didn't seem fazed by the trip at all, but then ever since Dumbledore's death nothing seemed to effect her much. She was functioning like an emotionless drone, doing what need to be done.
The pass week had gone by quickly with a flurry of events that still had Eustace's head spinning in confusion. Raven and dragged him and Hermione to a special Ministry office, where she had to fill out mountains of paperwork to obtain something called a passport for him and Hermione. Then she bought them about a months worth of muggle clothing and suitcases to put them in. After that she took them straight to the airport, obviously eager to get out of town as soon as possible.
Eustace really couldn't blame her, as the former fiance of the man who killed Albus Dumbledore, and Hermione being his niece, the media was all over them. Raven had decided it would be best to basically disappear in the muggle world.
Take off had been the worst, with the roar of the engines and the shaking of the whole plane. The fact that Raven didn't seem to find this abnormal, was the only thing that kept Eustace in his seat.
One the flight had reached cruising altitude, a Muggle woman with a cart went down the tightly cramped isles, passing out drinks to everyone. Raven had ordered something highly alcoholic, and pop for Eustace and Hermione. She also ordered 3 sets of what appeared to be small black earmuffs.
Eustace gave her a curious look as she handed one to him and Hermes.
"They're headphones," she replied quietly. "Plug them into the Arm of your chair and you can listen to music, or to the movie that should be starting soon." Before he could ask any questions she plugged hers in and placed it over her ears, settling back into the seat, closing her eyes.
Eustace cast a glance at Hermes, who just shrugged and placed the headyfon things on her head, plugging them in after a moments search on her arm rest. Eustace followed suit and after a few moments the movie started.
It held Eustace's attention for about a minute, tops before he reached for the dial on his arm rest to find something more comprehensible. From the beginning it was so filled with muggles references that he didn't understand, he decided to just give up, hoping to find something he could understand without making his brain strain to much.
Luckily he found that Muggles' and wizards' taste in music was very similar. As long as he just listened to the music and didn't put any context behind the words, it was all tolerable. With a sigh he sunk back into his chair, closing his eyes. Hopefully the flight wouldn't last to long..
